New Hire FAQ

Current TB test (within last 60 days, or 4 years if coming from another school district)
Copy of Social Security card for payroll
Livescan fingerprint clearance (form included in new hire packet)

Classified Staff (Classroom Paraprofessionals, Aides, Explore Paras, Office and Grounds staff, etc.) will need the following forms completed and turned in to our District Office:
- Personnel Information Form
- Federal (W-4) & State (EDD) Tax Forms
- USCIS Form I-9
- Drug Free Organization Form
- Oath of Allegiance for Persons Employed by a CA School District
- Prohibition of Tobacco Statement
- Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Duties Statement
- Deferred Net Pay Authorization Form
- Warrant Recipient Designation Form
- Medical Benefits Enrollment Form (if applicable)
- Automatic Payroll Deposit Authorization Agreement (optional)
- Transfer of Accumulated Sick Leave (if applicable)

Yes, for positions that require an academic degree, new hires must provide an academic transcript.

If you start before the 16th of the month, you will receive your first paycheck close to or on the last business day of the month. If you start after the 16th of the month, you will receive your first paycheck close to or on the last business day of the next month. The pay period starts on the 11th day of the month and ends on the 10th day of the month. Your first or last check will be prorated in months of partial employment (in other words, if you begin working for South Bay after the first day of the month or end your employment with South Bay prior to the last day of the month). Pay checks not deposited directly into your account will be available for pick up in the District Office at 6077 Loma Avenue. Checks not picked up in 3 business days will be mailed.

- Pay stub: A summary document that demonstrates the factors – number of hours worked, the rates paid for those hours, deductions for taxes and benefits, etc. – that were used to calculate an employee’s pay for a designated period of time
