Parent/Teacher Conferences for Trimester 1 11/12-11/18
You should have received an invitation to scheduled your Parent Teacher Conference for trimester 1 last week, via Parent Square. A reminder will also come out this week. Please be sure to take time to click on the link and schedule a time with your student's teacher. This time will allow teacher to update you on your students learning progress this year. This week will also be early out ALL week, Thank you!
Parent Hacks Workshops
Attached is a flyer for Pre-Holiday Parent Hacks Workshops for parents starting November 6th. The scheduled workshops topics will include: The Power of Routines, Managing Anger, and the ABCs of Tantrums. Workshops are for caregivers of children up to age 8. They are FREE and take place on Wednesdays from 10-11:30 am at HCOE at 901 Myrtle Avenue in Eureka. Caregivers can attend one, two or all three of the workshops.
The Early Education Department at Humboldt County Office of Education is supporting a free Family Engagement Outreach Event for families with children12 and under. This event will be held in Fortuna at the Gene Lucas Community Center at 3000 Newburg Rd B in Fortuna, CA on November 16th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Special guest, Nature Joe’s, will be attending with lots of interesting critters! There will also be early math demonstrations (with fun materials to take home), free books, and a variety of engaging table activities paired with information to benefit families.
Lunch on the Lawn & Quad
This year we will continue our tradition of having Lunch on the Lawn at Pine Hill on the 4th Friday of the month. Lunch on the Quad at South Bay will be the 3rd Friday of the month. Be sure to mark your calendars now and watch for reminders in our newsletters!

South Bay Union School District is proud to offer breakfast, recess snacks and lunch for free for all students at Pine Hill and South Bay schools! Breakfast is provided before school in both cafeterias, snacks offered at recess and lunch during scheduled lunch times. Please be sure to check the menu to know what will be served during the week.
